The Woodstock-Greenwood Senior Citizens met on Thursday, Sept. 2, at the Masonic Hall. A delicious dinner was served by the Star Birthday Club and an interesting program on a mission trip to Papua, New Guinea was presented by Marybeth Hoover. In October we go to the Village Inn for dinner.

Guest of Irene Redman recently was her daughter, Lorraine Sinclair from Florida. It was good weather and they enjoyed their time together.

Franklin Grange 124 met on Monday, Sept. 6 for a regular meeting. Installation of officers will be held on Thursday, Sept. 16, at West Paris Grange Hall starting with a 6:30 supper. Laura Hutchins and Peggy Blake are delegates to State Grange. A date was set for the next Hee Haw Show on Nov. 6. Program, Amazing Grace  opening song; opening thought, Bertha DeHaas; poem by Sharon Felt,  Gram's Old Oak Desk; poem by Richard Felt, Our Country Doctor; song , Let There Be Peace on Earth; closing thought. Pomona Grange will meet at Franklin Grange in October. Next meeting is Sept. 20.

There will be no special program at Whitman Memorial Library in October.

Historical Society

The Historical Museum has many posters from the old Opera House and signs from the Little Jap and Farrow's Manor. Old photos cover the bulletin boards and rest on shelves everywhere. Collectibles also line the shelves as well as a big table upstairs. Glass and china abound. Fine furniture line the aisles too. Everywhere you encounter Woodstock artifacts.

Curator Larry Billings has given the Historical Society a book on King George VI. The society has many books on royalty that Larry has given. There are also textiles and old tools.

   Join them and help out. You can take part if you only will.
