The Memorial Day program and parade were well attended. An American flag was presented to the Woodstock Fire Department for their meeting room. A new flag was hung at the Honor Roll. Boy Scouts from West Paris troop raised the flag. General Logan Address was read by Jane Wardwell and Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address was read by Elsie Bonney, president of Judith Grover tent 17 DUVCW. Essay by fourth-grader Mykala Bennett was read, “What Memorial Day Means To Me.” Wayne Hakala, commander of Jackson-Silver Post, Locke Mills, was guest speaker and Steve Hoover gave opening and closing prayer. Elsie Bonney told how the money was coming in for the Honor Roll extension and said any donations were welcome. Program was under direction of Sally Sawyer, patriotic instructor of Judith Grover tent 17, Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, who sponsors the program each year. Music was by Mahoosuc Music Makers. Legion members provided the firing squad and color guard. Thanks to all who took part.

Judith Grover Tent 17 DUVCW will meet at the Grange Hall on Monday, June 14. Convention will be held in Waterville on Friday, June 25.

Services at the Baptist church are Sunday school at 9:15, morning worship at 10:30, evening service at 6 p.m., Wednesday evening at 5:30 is youth group and at 6:30 is prayer meeting. June 12 is men’s breakfast at Andover Calvary Bible Church; June 13 at 5:30 will be special business meeting; June 19 and 26 meetings for Vacation Bible School; June 24 at 6:30 p.m. Ambassador Baptist College Quartet (no prayer meeting on Wednesday this week); Vacation Bible School is June 28 to July 2. Missionary Mariano Proto and his family will be here for VBS.

The Woodstock High School Alumni Banquet will be held at the Legion Hall in Locke Mills on Saturday, June 12, at 5:30 p.m. Special guests this year are Telstar seniors from Woodstock and Greenwood and classes of 1940, 1950, and 1960 from W.H.S. All W.H.S. alumni welcome. Banquet is $10 each for all except guest classes.

Historical Society

The Historical Society Museum is open every Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. The meeting in June will be the 3rd Saturday and will be held at Market Square Health Center, South Paris. Visit the museum this summer while it is open.

Larry Billings enjoys watching the Travel Channel on T.V. especially with Samantha Brown.

The Woodstock Extension Group will meet on June 16 to plan next year’s meetings.

The Woodstock-Greenwood Senior Citizens met at the Crosstone restaurant on Thursday. Twenty attended for a delicious turkey dinner. Next meeting is at the Fire Station with potluck — each one bring a dish to share. Program is Wayne Howe.
