Greenwood City June 24

I’ve been told that I need to get my fingers in gear or have them crushed into dust from the neck down. I really don’t think it has to be that drastic. Maybe I need to slow down and pay attention to other matters such as writing this.

We have been at the American Legion State Convention in Bangor. Arrived home just before the thunderstorm dumped on us. We did have a very good time and enjoyed visiting old friends. Posts 68 and 81 were very well represented. Plus both Posts received the Post Excellence Award. There were only five awards given out for the state. Very good for both Posts.

We went to the Crosstones for dinner this eve. The Lobster Roll is out of this world. You just have to use a fork and knife on this mastepiece. Absolutely delicious and so packed with mouth-watering delight. They do come in two sizes. Rebecca waited on us and made sure everything was in order. Tim sure has developed a very nice restaurant and it is a delight to eat there. And if you should decide to go, take a close look at the fireplace. A master piece and Tim will gladly show it off to you. Well worth the visit to see this finely crafted fireplace.

Last Wednesday evening after bingo we had to wait on the moose by the Town Garage. Mother moose made sure her last year's little one went into the bushes toward the garage and she entertained us in the road for some time. Actually she wasn’t very happy with us. Then we had a deer to watch at the powerline.

I would like to hear from anyone interested in joining a Sons of the Legion Squadron. If you are a son of a veteran from one minute old to any age and interested in becoming a SAL member please let me know. Call the Post and leave a message anytime at 875-2375 or call me at home at 527-2234. There are several things that you can accomplish as a Son and so many projects to work on to help out the veteran that will put a permanent smile on your face.

On July 13, that’s the second Tuesday of the month, the Legion Auxiliary will be doing their Musical Supper. Don’t know all the details yet, but plan on being there. Guaranteed to be a good supper and dance.

And the Red Sox are just putting it together in fine style.
