Arts Council seeks board members

To the Editor:

The Mahoosuc Arts Council is undertaking the development of its board of directors and is seeking to add a limited number of new board members from the Greater Bethel Area. The Council is looking for people who are interested in supporting the advancement of the arts and humanities in the adult communities and school systems of the Greater Bethel Area through community and educational programming in performing and visual arts.

Throughout the 24-year history of the Council it has presented hundreds of programs which have been provided to thousands of K-12 students and thousands of visitors and residents. Some of our programs include the Gould Performing Arts Series, the Bethel Art Fair, the ARTirondack Auction and the SAD 44 Elementary, Middle and High School Performing Arts Series and Artist-in-Residence programs.

If you are interested in learning more about the Council and its 24-year history and how your involvement can directly impact the cultural environment in Bethel, you are invited to attend the Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors, June 21 at 6 p.m. at the Foothills Grille on Main Street, Bethel.

Please RSVP to 824-3575, info@mahoosucarts.org or PO Box 534, Bethel ME 04217.

Upon confirmation, you will be sent a package containing pertinent information including our strategic plan, board governance, a matrix defining the viability of our programming and a brief budget statement.

Thank you for your consideration to support arts and culture in Bethel.

Aranka K. Matolcsy
