Bat Hibernation Program
The third Mahoosuc Land Trust Local Knowledge program of our 10th anniversary year of this series will feature “Bat Hibernation in Maine” on Friday, March 18, at 7 p.m. in the Rumford Library Community Room.
David Yates of Biodiversity Research will elaborate on the fact that two out of three Maine bat caves are located in Rumford. He will speak about basic bat biology and conservation issues that bats face.
Yates is a Unity College graduate with a degree in environmental sciences with emphasis in wildlife biology. He has a M.Sc. in environmental studies with emphasis in conservation biology from Antioch University. His presentation will dispel often-held myths and fears that a surprising number of people believe.
The Mahoosuc Land Trust is pleased to offer these programs to the public free of charge. Donations are accepted to help defray our expenses.
