Blue Christmas Service
On Wednesday evening, Dec. 22, at 7 pm. a Blue Christmas Service will be held at West Parish Congregational Church on Church Street.
Amidst the excitement, joy, and happiness associated with the Christmas season, there are many who feel "blue" at this time of year. For some the holiday season may always bring sad feelings; others may have suffered a recent loss and are grieving; others may suffer from chronic depression. No matter what the reason for the "blue" feelings, all are welcome to gather at this ecumenical service and be able to acknowledge their "Christmas Blues," the reasons for them, and offer them to God in this special Christmas service. Carol Stevens and Virginia Rickeman will be leading the service.
Whether you are part of a church community or not, you are welcome to attend. Those who wish to support someone feeling "blue" at this season are also most welcome. Christmas is about love, warmth and sharing -- some are in need and some are needed to give.
May all find peace this Christmas even if "merry" is not part of the season.
