EXPO Committee Events
We have a wonderful weekend filled with events to anticipate!
The 4th Annual Business and Home EXPO, presented by Norway Savings Bank, is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Telstar High School gymnasium –- and is a great way to meet and learn about nearly 40 local businesses, do some holiday shopping, and have several chances to win some terrific raffle prizes. There will be several raffle items donated by our exhibitors during the day –- and a Grand Prize raffle of one cord of firewood donated by Cross Excavation drawn shortly before 2 p.m. Other sponsors helping to make this event possible are Agren Appliance, United Insurance, Northeast Bank, Turner Publishing, WOXO/Gleason Marketing Services and Western Maine Supply.
While you are at the Telstar facility on Saturday there will be lots of other activities for you to enjoy. The Taste of Bethel, featuring Bethel area restaurants, will be held in the Telstar Cafeteria from noon until the food runs out (usually about 1:30 or so). Sample tastes are $1 each.
The Theme Wreath Auction has become a chamber holiday tradition and it will feature up to 20 wreaths decorated by our local businesses. This is a silent auction and it will be located in the gymnasium this year. The closing bids will be accepted at 1:50 or so, shortly before the Business EXPO closes to the public.
From 2 to 4 p.m., Oxford Networks is providing free horse-drawn wagon rides in Bethel Village. Thanks to the Bethel Rotary Club, at 4:15, those wishing to participate in the 2nd Annual Jingle Bell Run are asked to gather in the Key Bank parking lot on Main Street, Bethel for a 4:45 mass jog up the street to the Bethel Common. Santa will greet everyone on the Common and we will light the Christmas tree to officially begin the holiday season.
