'Hot and Cold' Radio Program
In these days of high interest and energy saving, I would like to call readers attention to an excellent radio call-in program called "Hot and Cold" that has been on the air in the Bangor area for a number of years. It has a large following of homeowners, trades people, technicians and others. The presenter is Tom Gocze who has wide experience in the building trades, insulation problems and working with heating and cooling systems. His partner on the program is Professor Dick Hill, a retired professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Maine. Professor Hill came to the University 64 years ago, and has a wealth of information on all phases of energy use and conservation, and a lot of experience with wood burning. The program occasionally has speakers on septic systems, pest control and other related subjects. If Tom or Dick don't have the answers, often a trades person will call in with one.
The program originates at WVOM 103.9 Bangor and can be picked up on 101.3 FM Augusta, running from 8 to 10 a.m. on Saturdays. Professor Hill is on the second hour. (Bethel is about on the fringe of reception for the Augusta station and sometimes fades out on my truck radio.) Remember to turn on your radio on Saturday!
