Please Teach Fire Safety

To the Editor:

We would like to give thanks and love to all those that helped during and after our house fire in West Bethel on April 30, 2010. To the Bethel Ambulance, Bethel Police Department, Bethel, Gilead and Newry Fire Departments — your quick response time and ability to be there was amazing!

A wonderful thank you to Bethel Fire Chief, Michael Jodrey and the American Red Cross for making arrangements for us to stay at the Bethel Inn while we found another place to live. Thank you to the Bethel Inn for their accommodations, Telstar High School, Crescent Park Elementary, the Bethel DX Exchange and all those that donated through the Sunday River Welcome Center for your kindness, assistance and donations. To Dan Young, Fire Marshal, thank you for your kindness and gentleness while talking with my children. To Emerson and Adaline Clough, your friendship and love has meant the world to us, even well before the fire.

We lost everything in the fire, but we have what is important in life…each other. This would not have been possible had it not been for the wonderful people and professionals of Bethel.

Please teach Fire Safety!
