The Right Man for the Job

To the Editor:

I am supporting Les Otten for governor because I think he is the right man for the job. Jobs — look what Les did for this area. He purchased Sunday River from Killington and took a small mountain and turned it into a mega mountain. He created condos, timeshares, expanded the mountain, developed real estate which, in turn, created additional jobs, not only for those who worked at the mountain, but for those who were enticed here to ski, buy real estate and then build homes.

The commercial states 1,200 or 1,500 jobs are what he brought to the area. He did more than that! Via his leadership at Sunday River, he brought an expansion to the area, which continues today and has helped support the town of Bethel and its residents. Realtors, carpenters, construction folks, architects, housecleaning, waiters, waitresses, other real estate speculators and so many others have benefited from the growth under his leadership at Sunday River. With Les Otten’s help, the Red Sox turned themselves around and won a World Series.

Les has always been a huge proponent for the children in the area, not only by supporting them through the years in athletics, but also through programs such as Project Opportunity. Les continues today to operate his various businesses locally, thus putting local people to work. Les knows what it is to roll up your sleeves and work.

I also think that Les can convert some of the high-spending politicians in Augusta and get them to start thinking about their state and not themselves. These are just a few of the reasons I will vote for Les Otten for Governor.
