Mollyockett Day volunteers sought
To the Editor:
Mollyockett Days, July 17 and 18, will provide an entire weekend of wonderful events for all. The Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to be the new organizer of this 50-year old community festival.
Putting on an event of this magnitude requires dozens of volunteers and the Chamber is seeking willing workers to be a part of our event team. Each volunteer who volunteers a total of four-hours over the course of the weekend, from Friday set-up to Sunday afternoon clean-up, will receive a lovely commemorative Mollyockett Days t-shirt.
We have many kinds of jobs for volunteers to do, including the following: serving lobster rolls, ice cream and beverages; Mollyockett Days Classic road races registration; souvenir sales; old-fashioned BINGO workers; Parade workers, parking attendants and traffic safety; Friday set-up workers and Sunday clean-up workers. We welcome volunteers of all ages and would like to extend an invitation to students seeking to complete their mandatory community service hours. Volunteering at a fun community event is a wonderful way to make new friends – and we welcome those who are new to our community, or are part-time residents, to consider giving a few hours of your time that weekend.
Please give the chamber office a call at 824-2282 at any time of day or night. If you happen to call after business hours, please leave your name and phone number on the voice mail and we will get back to you within a day.
We hope to hear from you.
