Presentation on study of rail line extension

There has been much discussion in the media about the extension of passenger rail to Lewiston, Auburn and beyond. The Maine Department of Transportation has funded a study entitled “The Lewiston/Auburn/Montreal Passenger Rail Feasibility Study,” and a presentation of that study will be given on Wednesday, Sept. 8, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Bethel Inn Resort. The Bethel Area Chamber has been supportive of this dialogue, as we believe having alternative transportation modes to western Maine will be extremely beneficial to our economy.
