The Andover Library recently held an Open House where children enjoyed making crafts. Refreshments were donated by Service Circle members. The Library Board extends thanks to all who participated.  The raffle gift basket was brimming with goodies. The winner was Carolyn Merrill. The Library has applied for participation with an e-books program and are hoping to offer patrons free access to download books in the spring of 2013.

The Andover Elementary School Council members had written a letter to State Senator John Patrick about the sad shape of their school flags. He surprised the whole school by presenting us with new American and State of Maine flags in person on Friday, Dec.  14. Student Council members are Angela Cintron, Nyia Dixon, Dylan Duclos and Perry Morton. The adult advisor to the council is Dee Nadeau.

The East Andover Club participated in the Snow Valley Christmas Fair at the Fire Station site featuring homemade goodies and two raffles which were treat-filled roasters. The prizes went to Sandra Clement of Andover and Nancy Chaccio of Waltham, Mass.

Christmas was more wonderful for the 23 children served by the Yellow Star program. Thanks to all in the community and the Andover Service Circle who took stars to fulfill a child's wish. The Food Pantry also supplied 32 food boxes to area residents.
