Possible Bethel Baseball Field

What a great opportunity the Town of Bethel has been offered! Two weeks ago I received a phone call from Ernest Angevine following the fishing derby at Angevine Park which they had just attended. Ernest and his wife had such a good time watching the kids catching fish that he went home and called me to see if I was still interested in a baseball field(s) for the town of Bethel. I said yes I was interested.

Since then I have talked to several people gathering information for the layout for a little league field and a regular size field; a rough estimate of cost for this project; and have met with our town manager, Jim Doar.

Angevine Park Recreation Committee will have to be picked and approved by the selectmen. It may be necessary to have a special town meeting for voters to approve the acceptance of the land from the Angevines. This land is adjacent to the pond on the North Road.

This is a great opportunity for Bethel to finally have its own ball fields, and I hope everyone will be as excited as I have been.
