COME TO THE CONCERT

The Mahoosuc Community Band is excited about our upcoming concert this coming Sunday, Dec. 9, at 4 p.m. at the West Parish Congregational Church in Bethel.

The concert is filled with traditional favorites and newer melodies. We have some new songs this Christmas season: Benny Goodman: A King of Swing arranged by Paul Murtha and Flourish for Wind Band by R. Vaughan Williams. We will also play familiar favorites of Silver Bells, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and naturally, Sleigh Ride.

All are welcome to come and start celebrating the holiday season. The band really appreciates the support of the greater Bethel community. Through the years it has been a pleasure to play music for the communities.

The community band practices Monday nights at the Congregational Church basement in Bethel. After the Holiday concert, the group takes a break and restarts rehearsals Jan. 7, 2013. New members are always welcome.

The opportunity to enjoy music lasts through the years. Many of our members played in high school and stopped. Yes, it took time to regain the notes. Yet this group is really encouraging, and enjoys music together. Young people from area Middle and High Schools are welcome.
