Franklin D. Gammon
Franklin D. Gammon, 67, of Andover, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at the Rumford Hospital, Rumford, Maine. He was a resident of Andover, Maine.
Born in Rumford, Maine on May 11, 1945, he was a son of Ira and Mary (Lufkin) Gammon, Sr. He attended local schools. He owned and operated F.D. Gammon and Sons Logging.
He enjoyed pulling Oxen at Agricultural fairs. He represented Maine in the International Ox Pulling Competition where he won first prize. He enjoyed watching Westerns on TV, dancing, and taking rides with his daughter Chris for a coffee. In 2003 he started a herd of Buffalo.
Survivors include two sons, Adam and his wife Stephanie of Rumford and their children Tanna, Adam, Mariya and Carl; Stacy and his wife Cindy of Andover and their children Lacey, Lauren and Lisa; daughters, Emily Bodemer and her husband Dennis of Rockwood and their children Coleman and Logan; Christina Gammon and her companion Mark McCollough of Rumford and daughter Summer; two great-grandchildren, Brooke and MacKenzie; two sisters, Mary Bailey of Andover and Marilyn White of Andover; a brother Clifford Gammon of Peru. He was predeceased by siblings Warren, Milan, Chester and Ira Jr., Gammon, Marion Gordon, Elaine Akers, June Hutchins; half sisters, Arlene and Phyllis and a half brother, Ted.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin Street, Rumford, Maine with Pastor Ken Wagstaff officiating. Interment in the spring will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Andover. Those who desire may contribute to Santa’s Helpers, Roxbury Road, Mexico, ME 04257 in his memory.
