Gilead
It seems so nice to finally see some sunshine. Now, we just need to keep it around for a little while.
My brother, Steve McLain, was at the house this past weekend. He helped set up the Town Hall for Election Day before heading home to work on his garden.
Lise McLain had Steve drop off the necklaces that she made for the Gilead Historical Society. They will be raffled off as a fundraiser on Friends and Family Day on June 23.
Richard Fraser stopped by the house last Saturday to drop off a donation for the Gilead Historical Society. He brought a poster that came from Eddie Quinn’s Railroad Museum that used to be in Gilead. Eddie and his wife, Marguerite, lived on the Bog Road and he operated his Railroadiana Museum out of a small building beside his house. Richard thought it was time that a little bit of Eddie’s collection made it back to Gilead where it began and where it belongs.

Friends and Family Day is only a little over a week away. The last few days before the event on June 23 will be quite busy. There is a lot of preparation in getting ready for the day. The event will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. More information can be found at gileadhistoricalsociety.blogspot.com and on the GHS page on Facebook.
