East Bethel

It seems Mother Nature likes to treat us with “too much of a good thing,” giving us either too much rain or oppresive heat. Guess we are tough and can take it, huh?

Bettyann Hasting was happy to tell me that her daughter Ellen Franklin and John and Summer were here for a visit from Texas. Last Sunday all the brothers and sisters, along with spouses, nieces and nephews, climbed Old Speck Mountain to the pond. All had a great time. John and Summer also visited some friends in Wolfborough,N.H. Now they are all back in Texas in 98-degree weather.

I heard through the grapevine that the Black Flies have a special fan who attends every single game. His name is Mr. Wilson from East Bethel. Wonder how many of you know who he is? It will be interesting to hear. So, call me at 824-3220 or e-mail han@megalink.net.

Monday, the 16th, we and a some friends celebrated my son's birthday with a nice dinner and cake. It was just as hot outside as on the day he was born.

Now on to the new Trivia: “When and for how much was the old town house on the parish line in Middle Intervale sold?”

As a reminder or in case you haven't heard yet, Main Street will be closed to traffic from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. this Saturday.

Due to popular demand, Marcia and I decided to have the INNside Shop open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at least for the summer months.

Wishing everyone a great week.
