Waterford

It is Nov. 5 and the weather is cold and windy. Days get dark earlier and earlier and that is what I hate about this time of year. I like the weather but I hate that the dark days are coming. There is nothing I can do to change it they will come when they want, but it is only six weeks until winter solstice when the days start growing longer again. The wood is in the leaves are blown; now we just have to keep the fire going to stay warm, and by the time you read this the elections will hopefully be all over.

It was awful to watch all the destruction in New York, New Jersey, and elsewhere on the coast. I feel for those people but am glad help was headed their way. Knowing how long it took us to recover from our house burning, I can only imagine how hard it is to lose the whole neighborhood. Mother Nature had fun with us once again. Perhaps doubters will begin to believe in the effects of global warming.

That is all for this week. Hopefully the storm will not be too bad and we will all come out well.
