Franklin Grange 124 met on Saturday, March 2, for a regular meeting at the Grange Hall. Under communications, a letter from Karen Flagg, CWA director. Donations to be sent by CWA. Voted to put on the Senior Citizens Dinner on July 11. The May 6 meeting will be Instructions and Inspections. Tentative date for next Hee-Haw Show will be May 4. June 17 will be CWA meeting. The Grange gave the Daughters of Union Veterans $239.50 toward the monument fund from the Chowder Fest. There was plenty of food thanks to all who cooked, but a lack of people to eat it. Next meeting is March 16 at 10 a.m. with potluck dinner following. Program was Opening thought – Bertha Dehaas, Song – “When Irish Eyes are Smiling,” thoughts on St. Patrick’s Day memories, closing song.
Whitman Memorial Library’s program for the month of March will be today, March 14, at 2 p.m. Carol Welsh will be guest speaker. She is both a birth mother and adoptive mother, also an author and jewelry designer with degrees in physiology and human relations. She has written a book, “360 Square.” Her mission is to share light on human strength and resilience, raise awareness of the complexities of adoption, and inspire artistic design and the written word.
Services at the Baptist Church are Sunday School at 9:15, Morning Worship at 10:30, and Evening Service at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening at 6:30 is Prayer Meeting. The church now has a larger bus to bring children to Sunday School.
Remember the last Monday of the month is Town Meeting.
The Woodstock-Greenwood Senior Citizens met on Thursday at Ledgeview Memorial Home. A delicious dinner was served and program was stretching exercises led by Leslie Baumgartel. Next meeting is April 4. Dinner will be put on by Daughters of Union Veterans. Place to be announced. Program, different bugs in your garden by Extension Service.
