Some of Bob Pepler’s family recently visited him in Upton. They had a "Depression Party". That means that they looked at pictures of themselves taken when they were much younger. They viewed the pictures using a carousel projector. The projector was purchased at the Balsams auction and is nearly as old as some of the people in the pictures. If you are too young to know what a carousel projector is, you can research it on your computer.
Areas of snow on Red Ridge and on the north side of Mount Speck are still visible from my kitchen window. There are also still some small patches of snow in shaded pockets closer to home, but it is melting quickly. The ice is out of Umbagog Lake. I believe it went out Monday, April 29.
