Gilead
The weather was so nice this past weekend that we got to go outside and get some work done. We even had a chance to set up our screen tent and enjoy sitting in the swing with our early Sunday morning cup of coffee. The birdbath was only out a few minutes when a little chickadee stopped by for a drink.
My brother, Steve McLain, is feeling well and plans to return to work soon.
Hugh and I went to Tim and Michele’s to visit with the grandchildren, William, Annie, Ajay and Sidney. They had a surprise birthday party planned for Grampa. The cake was chocolate and the frosting was too, because Sidney told her mother that Grampa would like chocolate.
Rosabelle Tifft would like everyone to know about another Western Mountains Senior College event that is coming up on Thursday, May 6, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Mahoosuc Mountain Lodge in Newry and anyone interested is invited. Polly Mahoney, Registered Maine Guide, will present a slide show and share her experiences of her trip through Mongolia on horseback. Admission is free. You are also invited to stay after the program for a potluck supper. If you plan to stay for the supper, please bring a dish to share. To reach the lodge, take Routes 2 and 26 to Newry for six miles and continue on Route 26 North for 7 more miles. You’ll see the lodge on the right at 1513 Bear River Road. If you want more information, call Bonnie Pooley at 824-2236.
