TRACY J. DOREY

Tracy J. Dorey, 97, of Oxford, died Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at the Maine Veterans’ Home, South Paris.

He was born in East Bethel, May 5, 1912, the son of Lindsay and Gertrude (Reed) Dorey. He married Gwendolyn Swan in 1934, and she died in 1939.

He was a woodsman most of his life. He enjoyed fishing at Dead River, the Red Sox and bird watching. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 until 1945.

He was married again and had five children, daughters, Carlene and husband Norman Keene, of Oxford, Kay and Eugene Brown of Lovell and Beverly and her husband Kenneth Ellis of Dixfield; a son, Carroll of Brownfield; 23 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by five brothers, Kermit, Kenneth, Lee, Don and Ray; his daughter, Christine Fletcher; and longtime companion, Everdene.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Canton at a time and date to be announced.
