"No Parking" for Forest Rally on Concord Pond Road

WOODSTOCK—There will be “no parking” along the Concord Pond Road in Woodstock for this year’s New England Forest Rally July 16. Part of the annual car rally course runs along the road. In a letter to selectmen, Ted Goddard of NEFR wrote: “Over the years the Concord Pond Stage has become more and more popular, to the point there is a parking problem. NEPR will address that problem by running more shuttle buses. The event also needs your assistance. NEPR requests the selectboard authorize the posting of ‘no parking’ signs along both sides of Concord Pond Road from the hours of 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. the day of the rally.” Goddard also said NEPR would pay for a uniformed officer to patrol the road until rally officials arrive to close it. The Woodstock board voted to support the request.
