East Bethel

This is, sorry to say, another week not being able to come up with news to share. Many of my calls went unanswered and some, though folks share things with me, prefer to keep it private. I do respect those wishes.

As the end of the year draws near, it is a time of reflection. Thus I ask your help for suggestions on how to serve you better with my column, what changes to make or not, etc. So, please let me know by calling me at 824-3220 or e-mail han@megalink.net. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the answer to the Trivia. In the Preface, dated July 11,1959, Eva Bean stated: “This history of the East Bethel Road has been a project of more than five years in the making.” She must have been an amazing lady to have such dedication to see such a project through. It is  true, all good things take time.

Alder River Grange #145 will hold a regular meeting on Dec. 14 at Stan Howe’s home on Broad Street in Bethel. There will be a potluck supper at 6 p.m. and the meeting at 7 p.m. Please bring something for the Food Pantry and cards if you wish to exchange cards for Christmas.
