East Bethel

It is hard to believe that by the time you read this it will be Feb. 2 already! Out and about one can hear a lot of grumbling about the weather. The biggest complaint being that instead of just snow, the freezing rain coming along with it. Just think, in a little over a month and a half will be the first day of Spring!

I do again have more happy news this week. On Jan. 29 at 4:13 p.m.  Paige and Jarrod Crockett welcomed their son,Theodore Dexter Crockett, weighing 7 pounds and 18 3/4 inches long. Naturally, Grampa Butch and Memeir Anne are very happy and excited. Paige's mom, Marcie is here from Arizona to share the happy event also. Congratulations to the proud parents and the family!

Tonya Hebert Lewis celebrated her first birthday as a new mom on Jan. 31. Belated Happy Birthday from the neighborhood.

I also have some news from the Western Mountain Senior College: “Caring for Your Heart," a special program for American Heart Month, will be presented by Daniel E. van Buren, M.D.,Board Certified Cardiologist, on Thursday, Feb. 9 (snow date Feb. 16) at Bethel Congregational Church, 32 Church Street, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Dr. van Buren will discuss heart disease, prevention, symptoms, treatment options and new developments.
