Nevers

Samuel E. Nevers Jr., of Bethel, died April 19, 2012.

He was born in Eureka, Calif. He graduated from Eureka Senior High School in 1964.

He worked at various jobs until the Simpson Pulp Mill was built in Samoa, Calif. He worked his way from utility man to powerhouse operator then switched to millwright.

He moved his family to Rumford, Maine, in 1994 to work at Boise Cascade until he was disabled with heart trouble in 2000. He received a heart transplant in October of 2001. His second heart gave out after 11 years.

He loved to fish and hunt the woods of Northern California. He drove stock cars and loved NASCAR racing. He was an avid gun enthusiast and NRA member. He loved his family above all else. He lived his life with the “what you see is what I am” attitude.

He is survived b his wife of 35 years, Kathy; and their daughter, Amanda. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Catherine Dinning, and their daughters, Rebecca Nevers, Shannen Garrison and husband Loel and their sons Johnathan, Nathan, Joshua and his wife Jackie. Also, the daughter of his heart, Chrissi Sponsler and her daughter, Calista. He leaves his sister, Michelle Nevers; her daughter Kuny and husband Tony and her children Jacob and Olivia; as well as his nephew, Jacob Morris. He leaves too many other relatives to mention, but they know who they are and how he felt about them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel E. Nevers, Sr., and Kathleen Fleming Nevers; and his nephew, Sean Boulton.
