High School Varsity Baseball
Telstar 12, Madison 0; May 23- Telstar earned its tenth win of the season with a 12-0 defeat of the Madison Bulldogs. Kyle Peterson went the distance on the mound allowing just 2 hits to earn the team's third shutout in a row. The Rebels knocked out 10 hits including 2 each by Kurt Morgan and Kyle Peterson. – Coach Bob Remington
High School Varsity Softball
Telstar 9, Winthrop 7; May 25-Telstar's softball team trailed Winthrop 5-0 on Friday before rallying to win their 7th game of the season. Maisey Griffin had two doubles in the big 4th inning as the Rebels rallied for 8 runs in the frame to secure the lead and hang on to beat the Ramblers. Tasha Farnum, Maisey and Rachael Wheeler each drove in 2 hits with consecutive hits to put the Rebels on top. Jessica Dirago struck out 8 and walked only two to get the win for the home team.- Coach Jim Lunney
Madison 12, Telstar 0; May 23- Madison ended the Telstar win streak at 4 games as a strong Bulldog team defeated the Rebels. Tasha Farnum and Rachael Wheeler got the only hits for the Rebels and Jessica Dirago limited the Madison team to 6 hits but walks and some errors opened the door for the hosts to score big in 2 innings. The team is now 6-6 on the season.- Coach Jim Lunney
High School J.V. Softball
Telstar 12, Madison 7; May 24-Telstar’s Jenny Wakefield pitched all 7 innings allowing 2 walks, 2 strikeouts, and 5 hits. The defense did a nice job behind her making many solid plays. Ellie Conrad had 2 hits including a big double, 2 hits for Wakefield, singles by Sadie Ellsworth, Autum Morin, Katie Merrill, Vanessa Godwin, Savanna Patenaude, and a double by Kijah Bartlett. Maisey Griffin had two nice sacrifice hits with 2 RBIs and the team collected 9 walks. – Coach Mark Kenney
TMS Varsity Baseball
Telstar 7, Mt. Valley 6; May 24- Telstar’s Kaleb Currier and Caleb Clarke combined pitching with 10 strike outs. Kaleb Currier also helped out on offense with a double and a triple with 3 RBIs. Jacob Bennett, Chase Harkins, and Tanner Wheeler added a single each. The team is now 7-1 for the season.-Coach Tim O'Connor
TMS J.V. Baseball
Dirigo 6, Telstar 5; May 22-Telstar’s Colton Carson pitched two innings, striking out three batters; Tanner Wheeler pitched three innings, striking out five; and Marcus Wentworth pitched one inning, striking out two. The offense was led by Duncan Forbes with two hits. Russel Cushman added one hit and a sacrifice bunt, Josh Eliot and Marcus Wentworth each added one hit. The season record was 4 wins and 1 loss. Pine Tree Men’s Baseball
Bethel 7, Green Wave 5; May 20-The Bethel Braves improved their record to 3-0 by beating the Centeral Maine Green Wave. Levi Brown and Tim Remington lead the Braves hitting with two hits a piece. Rick Whitney, Josh Aylward, Travis Brooks, Wade Osgood and Ken Whitney all had hits. Osgood started on the mound getting the win going 4 innings walking 2 and striking out 7 and only allowing 2 runs. Aylward relieved Osgood throwing 5 innings walking 3 striking out 7 and allowing 3 runs. Next game is at Gould Academy June 3 against the Dexter Pirates.
