ATV accident in Riley injures two

Two ATV operators were injured in a Friday morning crash in Riley Township. "It appears two ATVs collided head-on while being operated on the multi-use trail on Maine Public Reserve land. Both operators were injured in the crash. Both men are from Rhode Island and are visiting Maine together," according to the Maine Warden Service. One of the operators was transported by Med-Care to Rumford hospital. The other man suffered serious injury and was flown by Life-Flight to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.  Acting Sergeant Dave Chabot and Warden Norm Lewis were assisted by Newry Fire, Bethel Rescue, Med-Care, Oxford County Sheriff Office and Life-Flight. The incident is under investigation by the Maine Warden Service. Here, rescuers  transport one man to the helicopter in a field on the Sunday River Road in Newry.
