Waterford
The day dawns muggy but not yet hot. That will happen in a few more hours when the sun gets high. The weekend was harsh, except for those who were on or in the river and at the many beautiful Maine beaches. Those of us at the Transfer Station were hot. But Sadie was with us and that made it easier.
No bears this week. Hopefully they have found enough berries now and do not need to raid backyards.
Condolences go out to the family of Raymond Bliss. Raymond passed last week.
Thursday, July 5, ACA will meet at the Waterford Library at 10 a.m. It is a discussion group and new members are welcome. FMI please call 739-9115.
Thursday, the 5th, in Norway there is a Community Table dinner at the Progress Center at 35 Cottage Street from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Donations. FMI 739-6180.
Saturday, the 7th, this the Bethel Art Fair on the Bethel Commons. 70 Artists will be showing and there will be crafts and entertainments. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. FMI 824-3575.
There will also be the Shy, Novice and Closeted Art Show. If interested please call 824-2889.
Next Thursday, the 12th Poets on the Porch will hold their 10-year readings during the Norway Arts Festival. Because it is the tenth year it will be a little more formal and attendees will have a chance to take home poems of each poet who reads. FMI please call 743-9808.
