Thank You Firemen
Last Saturday night there was a fire at our next door neighbor’s house on Egypt Mountain Road. After waking up, looking out the window and realizing I wasn’t dreaming, we grabbed the dogs and quickly made our escape, as it is a dead-end road with no way of exiting except past the raging fire. It was extremely scary. The only comfort was seeing how quickly the firefighters and ambulance crews responded. Within minutes of leaving our home the fire trucks were pulling onto Egypt Mountain Road.
We stayed at the end of our road for about an hour until it looked like things had settled down. The fire seemed so out of control when we left that we feared for the safety of our home, but when we came around the corner we could see that the firefighters had it all under control. We were able to watch them work for a bit and it was very impressive. They were organized, focused and dedicated. We just wanted to say “Thank You!” You all did a wonderful job.
