EDWARD GREENLEAF

Edward Greenleaf, 47, of Biddeford, died Friday, July 6, 2012 at his home, following a long, courageous battle with cancer.

He was born May 1, 1965 in Norway, Maine, a son of John S. and Arlene M. (Chase) Greenleaf and was educated there graduating from Telstar High School in the Class of 1983.

Edward was a graduate of the Apprenticeship Program at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard where he worked for ten years. He studied for and became licensed as a paramedic. He had worked in the field of emergency services since the age of fifteen. Currently he was employed at York Hospital in the Wound Healing Unit and was also working as a paramedic with the Wells, Maine Emergency Medical Services.

On Sept. 21, 1985 he married Kathy Stackpole in Locke Mills.

He was an avid golfer, Disney lover, and softball player, having played twenty years with the Joe and Ed’s Diner softball team.

Edward is survived by his wife of 26 years, Kathy Greenleaf, and children Ryan and Jillian of Biddeford. Also surviving are three sisters: Christine Greenleaf and her fiance Ross Swain of Andover, Joan Greenleaf of Standish and Sondra Withey and her husband Rodney of Locke Mills; a brother, Bruce Greenleaf and his wife Susan of Vermont; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, July 10 at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
