For That I Thank You
The immense amount of love and support I received from this community these past few months has been unbelievable. I don't know how I could ever show my gratitude to each and every person that helped make my dream of attending the 2012 Summer Olympics come true.
Near the end of March I announced that I was accepted into a travel program through my University to attend the games, but it was at a hefty price. Within three months of putting on three separate fundraising events, collecting bottles, and donations, I've been able to make more than the expense of my entire trip.
I've grown up in Greenwood, Maine, my entire life. After graduating from Telstar High School in 2010 I went on to pursue a degree in Athletic Training at the University of Southern Maine. I've been in love with this community and members in it for as long as I can remember. For years I've also been impressed by the amount of care and compassion portrayed between towns when it comes to helping out a neighbor. But nothing has impressed me more than the incredible amount of support shown within the last three months.
I will be going to London, England, on July 28 and will be nothing but excited and proud to return home to my loving family, friends, and neighbors. Without you all, this trip – no, this dream of mine would have never come true – and for that I thank you!
