Waterford

by Rockie Graham

Winter returned this week giving us several days of frost. The afternoons were warmer and sunny but frost meant it is still too early to plant. We have gotten a head start on our planting, for once, by using our greenhouse. I’ve been transplanting veggies into bigger and bigger pots.

Last Thursday, we lost Mark Wight. He died suddenly of a heart attack. Condolences go out to Mo and to his family and other friends.

Waterford World’s Fair is planning several new dances. May 22 the Rockin Road band will be playing and on June 5 the Country Ridge Riders will be there. Dances start at 8 p.m. And the charge is $10/person. Refreshments will be available. FMI call Penny Hill at 583-4160.

The World’s Fair will also have a yard sale on June 20. One can rent a table for $10 and sell your own stuff. If anyone has items they want to donate, someone will pick them up. Please call Lucille Millett at 514-0333.

On May 20 the Wilkins House will hold the last community supper of the season at 6 p.m. Bring a dish and a friend. Hosts are Marilyn Eaton and Sara Stockwell. All are welcome.

All is going well with our new house. Everything is on schedule and I’m hoping I’ll be in before the end of May.

Have a great week and enjoy the great weather.
