East Bethel
During Monday's storm the roads were quite treacherous and hope none had mishaps. Many parents wondered why the kids had school that day.
Last Sunday we celebrated my daughter Samantha's birthday with a nice meal and cake.
Esther Wilson told me that Jackie and Bill had come for the annual Crockett Christmas Party on Saturday. There were about 60 people attending who enjoyed a potluck supper, playing games and chatting. Jackie and Bill returned to Mariaville, Maine on Sunday.
Alder River Grange 145 held a regular meeting on Dec. 14 at Stan Howe's home in Bethel. There were eight members present. Cards and gifts were exchanged and a donation made to the Bethel Food Pantry. It was voted on and approved to donate money to Howe's Nurses Scholarship and the Educational Aid Fund. A discussion on holding an East Bethel School Reunion was voted on and approved. The Reunion will be on June 23 at 1 p.m. at the Grange Hall. The next meeting will be Jan. 11 at Stan Howe's home on Broad Street. There will be a supper at 6 p.m. and the meeting at 7 p.m.
Here is the new Trivia question. At which Town Meeting did voters appropriate $1,000 and for what purpose? I hope to hear from many. So, please, do call me at 824-3220 or e-mail han@megalink.net.
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas!
