Howard Pond is covered with skim ice and depending on weather conditions there may be snow on top. It is neither safe nor wise to venture onto the ice.
Memorial wreaths honoring Veterans have been placed at Hanover Cemetery. A large cemetery stone was moved to a lot in the newer section last Wednesday.
The granite rock was said to weigh 6,000 pounds. It was delivered by Rock of Ages of Vermont and put in place using a crane from Bancroft Corp.
Gardner Roberts Memorial Library met Dec. 11 for the monthly trustees’ meeting. It was decided not to have regular meetings in January and February unless an issue of importance arises.
Schools are closed during the holiday season. With that in mind please watch for children in the streets trying their Christmas toys. Imagine an excited youngster with a new bike, puppy or sled not noticing passing traffic. Be sure to be aware so everyone will be safe. If there is an emergency in your home, call 911 to get help.
