Robert E. Lord

Robert Edward Lord, 74, of Ludlow, Illinois, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at the Illinois Knights Templar Nursing Home, Paxton, IL.

Mr. Lord was born in Rumford, Maine on Oct. 5, 1938. He was the son of Robert Merton and Ruth (Bennett) Lord. He grew up in Bethel, Maine, and graduated from Gould Academy.

He met his wife, Donna, while stationed at Chanute Air Force Base and they married March 29, 1964 and were blessed with 4 sons and 14 grandchildren.

Mr. Lord served his country in the Air Force for 8 years. He worked at Kraft Foods for 17 years, and was a piano tuner for 30 years. He farmed in the Ludlow area for 36 years. He was a member of the Christian Life Church and was a musician on the praise and worship team for 20 years.

He is survived by his wife, Donna J (Bluhm) Lord of Ludlow, 4 sons, Duane (Cindy) Lord of Bluford, IL; Christopher (Juli) Lord of Hiddenite, N.C.; Michael (Shauna) Lord of Fredericksburg, Va.; Robert T (Trina) Lord of Hattiesburg, Miss., and 14 grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Linda Johnson of Middletown, Conn., and a sister-in-law, Joyce Wright of Plaistou, N.H.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother and a brother, Laurice M. Lord.
