Albany

Greetings from Albany on this absolutely beautiful day! It has been a fantastic week as the summer draws to a close and we head back to school. Many of the young people that I know are heading off to college. Best of luck to all of you in your new endeavors.

On Friday, Dolly and Margaret Barton, Rachel and Akayla went to Ferry Beach for the day. Margaret said the ocean water was just like bath water! Jim Barton and Franklin went to Kezar Lake fishing that day.

Mary Ann Chase-Vinton , a former Gould Academy classmate of Norma Salway's called on her on Thursday and they had lunch at Erin's Cafe in Bethel.

On Thursday morning, Elaine Hutchins, Sally Hannon, Amy Smith and I had a wonderful breakfast at Erin's Cafe. If you haven't been there make sure you give it a try.

On Saturday there was a pool party at Chris and Elton Cole's to celebrate the end of summer. Those attending were Chris and Elton Cole, Maire Kaitlin and Cole, Doug and Jen Bennett and Bella, Pat and Kim Carson, and their children, Brooke, Sierra, Jake and Colton, John Elliot and wife, daughter, Mackenzie and son, Josh as well as yours truly. We had a great time swimming in the pool, eating and the kids played pool ball.

There will be another church supper at the Albany Church on Sept. 6 at 5:30.

Have a greet week everyone. Drive carefully keeping an eye out for all those youngsters as they are waiting for the bus or walking to school.
