RUFUS S. RICH

Rufus S. Rich, 75, of Lisbon, Maine, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012 at the Maine Veterans' Home, South Paris, Maine.

He was born in Upton, Maine, on Dec. 18, 1936, the son of Ralph and Louise (Dickinson) Rich, and graduated from Bridgewater High School, Bridgewater, Mass.

He also had served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1959.

Rufus was a truck driver and construction worker for many years until retirement and had served as an E.M.T. on the Dresden Fire Department in Maine.

Survivors include a sister, Dinah Clark and husband William of East Wareham, Mass.; a nephew, Matthew Zimmerman of Massachusetts; several distant relatives; and his close friend The Reverend Jane Rich of Andover, Maine.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012 at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta, Maine with The Reverend Jane Rich officiating.
