COMMISSION VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

To the Citizens of Bethel: As the new year approaches, are you making resolutions? Perhaps one of them might be to do something for this wonderful community in which we live!

One of the responsibilities of a good citizen is to help to manage the resources of the community in which he or she lives. In that spirit, I am inviting anyone who values the natural resources of Bethel to consider serving on the Conservation Commission.

This Commission carries out activities and serves as the advisory body for the protection, development and use of natural resources located within the town boundaries. It has specific responsibility, among other things, for the Town Forest Management Plan, street tree monitoring, maintaining the Mt. Will trail, and offering advice regarding plantings that the town has to do. The Commission meets once a month at the Town Office, usually the second Monday, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Citizens are appointed to the Commission by the Selectmen for three-year terms and application forms are available at the Town Office. If you have questions about the Commission's work, please call Jackie Cressy (824-0508).

Please give serious consideration to serving your community in this capacity.
