Don't give away your right to vote

To the Editor:

If we Oxford County voters were to grant the wishes of the County Commissioners in the matter of the County Treasurer, we would be giving up our right to vote on it. Instead, the commissioners would appoint the person they want, thereby bypassing the oversight built into the system by the need for officials to be elected every four years.

I prefer to keep the right to vote for County Treasurer and the possibility that it might be Roy Gedat.
