The Celebration of Fall will be next Saturday, Oct. 6. The annual event is a benefit for Gardner Roberts Memorial Library and will be at the Library/Town Office complex on Ferry Road in Hanover. Featured will be craft items, books, food sale, hot foods (chili and hot dogs) and a large yard sale with a lot of new items. A very popular event is the raffling of theme baskets assembled and donated by individuals. A picture by Chris Howe has been donated and will be raffled. Stop by from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and take advantage of all the great deals or just visit for a while. Raffle tickets for a handmade quilt crafted by the Bees will be sold and the winner drawn on Nov. 6, Election Day.

D.A. Wilson has been working on roads and streets in Hanover. Ditching has been accomplished and several culverts have been replaced.

Most Hanover area residents have reported daily visits by turkeys.

In Knights of Pythias news, Donna and Clem Worcester of Hanover and Freeman Farrington of Andover attended the Knights of Pythias International Jubilee in Calais, Maine, and Milltown, New Brunswick, last weekend. This year’s event commemorated the 60th annual jubilee and those attending were rewarded with special entertainment.

After an extended period of dry fall days we were the recipients of a great dumping of rain. Most folks said we didn’t need to shovel it.
