Local Food Connection

It has been a great year for the Local Food Connection, a new organization with member including farmers, educators, health and wellness organizations, local businesses, and other people interested in promoting growing and eating local food. We were thrilled with last week's article in The Bethel Citizen about LFC and wanted to mention one more important thing.

The LFC invites all residents of SAD 44 to take a survey regarding food consumption and purchasing habits. We'll use the results of the survey to inform us as we think about what kind of projects we get involved with in the future.

The LFC has been working with the Bethel Area Nonprifit Collaborative to develop the survey and it can be found on BANC's wewbsite at www.bethelmainennprofits.org (just click the apple). Survey takers can also enter to win a gift basket of local foods as well as sign up to learn more about the Local Food Connection.The LFC meets regularly and welcomes new members. We also hope to see you on Oct. 20 at our Do You Eat? event at Telstar.
