Unfair portrayals of Les
To the Editor:
This letter is not to make a final endorsement of a Republican candidate for Governor. It is to express dismay at the negative tone the campaign has taken in the portrayal of Les Otten as a businessman who was not good for Maine.
When three of our children worked at Sunday River during college vacations to earn tuition money, they would make the following comment of Les Otten and his management style. Les would make rounds and talk with all workers to see if they knew what they were supposed to do and if they were actually serving the customers safely and in the manner which met his criteria for customer service. He covered everyone from the cafeteria worker to the parking lot attendant to the lift operator. He was also very compassionate and supportive when our son was in an American Skiing salaried position and needed consideration for a health matter.
His reputation to me is that he has a proper management style that would carry over to the Governorship.
