This past weekend was full of interesting weather. There was a lot of rain and then on Saturday afternoon, there was a weather alert for a tornado watch issued by the National Weather Service for this area. We got some heavy rain and a little hail, but nothing too bad.
My brother, Steve McLain, stopped by the house Saturday and we went to the yard sale at the Town Hall.
The local snowmobile club, Wild River Riders, sponsored the yard sale. There were quite a few people who stopped, but the rain probably kept a lot of people away. They decided to set up again next weekend and see if they can get a few more customers.
My nephew, Brad McLain, was going to visit his father last Sunday when he and Carole saw a big turtle in the road near the old Clayton Sweatt residence. Brad thought it would be a good idea to remind people to watch out for turtles, since they seem to be moving around this time of year.
Hugh and I went to Tim and Michele’s last Sunday. The grandchildren, William, Annie, Ajay and Sidney planned a surprise belated birthday party for me.
This is another reminder that the Selectmen’s meeting that was scheduled for June 9 was postponed to June 16.
