Play the Discover Game

To the Editor:

In your edition of the Bethel Citizen this week, you will find a yellow insert. We encourage you to take it out and save it— rather than tossing it into the recycling bin! This flyer describes a Scavenger hunt-like game called Discover an Artist—Discover Us and by playing the game, you have the chance to win $100 in Bethel Bucks, to be used in one of the participating businesses. The game starts on Thursday, June 17, and continues through Mollyockett Days, with the drawing on Sunday, July 18.

Playing the discovery game is fun and easy. Simply visit the area businesses listed on the flyer and match the business with the artist listed. Please get the signature of the business owner or representative before you leave, indicating that you were there. The goal is to visit all these businesses (or as many as you can in one month!) and once your flyer is complete, leave it with the business owner, bring it to the chamber office (located behind the Casablanca Cinema,) or bring it to the chamber tent on the common on Mollyockett Days before 3 p.m. on July 18. We will do the drawing and contact you if you are the lucky winner— you do not need to be present to win.

When you go out to play the Discover Game, please note that some of the businesses are open only during business hours and some are not open on weekends. You may find the business hours and phone numbers by going to the chamber’s website: www.bethelmaine.com or by calling the office at 824-2282.

We are fortunate to have so many talented artists and creative individuals in our region. This game will help reinforce that ­-- as you travel from business to business. It will also be fun for you to meet the various business owners and their front-line employees. While you are out and about, we encourage you to stop in to the artisan galleries that showcase the works of so many others. Thanks for playing our Discovery Game!
