Waterford June 17

Here we are in mid June and the mornings are threatening to be in the high 30s and low 40s. I have even heard the f word (frost). Hopefully that won’t happen. By now most of us have our gardens planted and are ready for the weeding to begin. We still have quite a bit to still put in, but we are gaining on it.

I don’t know if I have that bothersome summer cold or not but I am definitely coughing badly. Bonnie says get out of the cellar. We are hoping to do so as soon as possible. Still waiting for all the ends to be completed. The bathrooms should be done today or tomorrow but we still need the plumber to finish and the electrician. After that, we should be good to go. Then we can begin to find everything that is missing.

My computer just ended and came back. I am not good at this laptop, but my other computer is not available, yet. I will have it up and running as soon as I get back in the house. For now I am trying to make do.

This week the 26th annual trek across Maine begins. It is a three-day trek from Sunday River in Newry to Belfast. It is hosted by and raises funds for the Maine Lung Association. Watch out for the bicycles this weekend.

Norway library is starting a reading programs for adults. Sounds like fun. Contact the library at 743-5309. Participants will read books from June 15 to Aug. 31. Register at the front desk. And fill out a form to win a book.

Wilkins House begins their indoor yard sales on June 19 at 8 a.m. Sales will benefit the building fund.
