Albany

Greetings from Albany. The old clock is ticking away the hours until New Year’s. Luckily there is some snow left to make it seem like this time of year.  Everyone is busy getting ready to gather with their loved ones. I will be joining Doug and family on Christmas.

Margaret Barton visited her aunt, Jan Jacobs, in Lewiston this afternoon. Roger and Yvette Barton visited Franklin while she was gone.

Isabella spent the day with me yesterday and we had a sleepover last night. So much fun! I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year.

Dec. 20 column

Mas is very quiet and peaceful day. The sun has withdrawn itself and left us with a very light dusting of snow.  Maybe will have a nice white Christmas after all!  Things are very busy at school.  Last Tuesday the fourth grade took a field trip to Augusta where they visited the legislative and senate chambers, the Blaine House and the Maine State Museum. We had a great time as they are a wonderful group of boys and girls. They are a very well behaved group also. They are studying about Maine and all about how our government operates.

On Saturday evening Jane Wardwell, Margaret Barton and I went to Auburn to attend a Christmas musical at the Universalist Church. We enjoyed the music of Mr. Philip House and The Dave Rowe Trio.

We also enjoyed a very good meal at The Tin Tin Buffett.

Margaret and Franklin Barton went to Brownfield on Thursday to visit Mr.and Mrs. Roger Barton.  Sunday they had dinner at Jim and Dolly Barton's.

I hope the weather cooperates so everyone can get all they need to do before Christmas is done. Have a wonderful holiday with your families and friends.
