Gerald Loring

Gerald Loring passed away on June 23, 2010, from complications with cardio pulmonary disease.

He was born in Portland on Sept. 12, 1938. He served in the Merchant Marines as a young man before moving to Gilead in 1969. He worked as a machinist in local factories including Bethel Furniture Stock, and retired at Saunders Brothers in Locke Mills.

Gerald loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and restoring antique cars

He is survived by his biological children, Scott Loring, Colonel U.S. National Guard, James Loring, and Sherri Loring. He was predeceased by his wife of 27 years, Louise Bryant Loring, and a brother, Andrew Loring. He also left behind stepchildren Deborah Cantelo, (deceased), Herbert Foster, Nancy Spearrin, and Sandra Dean, as well as many grandchildren and great- grandchildren, a special cousin, Genevieve Loring of Westbrook, and many friends.

He will be sadly missed by all. There will be a private service for family members at a later date with his ashes being spread on Little Larry Brook, at his request.
