Andover

Pet owners should note that there will be a Rabies Clinic at the Fire Station on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 2 to 4 p.m. The cost is $15.

A graveside service for Richard Hall was held at the Woodland Cemetery on Tuesday, Oct. 23, with family and friends attending. Richard had grown up in Andover and resided here recently when not at home in Acton.

Winners of the Pie Baking Contest at the Fall Festival on Saturday were: First Place, Philena Chaisson with her Peanut Butter Pie, Second, Joanne Palmer with her Graham Cracker Pie and third, Amber Cooper and her fall favorite Apple Pie.

Saturday afternoon family and friends of Nancy and Don Wardwell gathered in the Town Hall to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. The event was hosted by their three sons and their wives. The Wardwells renewed their marriage vows with Pastor Jane presiding. Guests came from as far away as New Brunswick, Canada.

The annual Hunters Supper at the First Congregational Church will be held on Election Day, Nov. 6, with the meal being served at 5:30 p.m. Chairmen for the event are Esau and Amber Cooper. Wear your hunter orange to be eligible for the door prize drawing. There will also be a 50-50 drawing. The menu will include a variety of stews, soups, and main dishes with desserts. Vote and enjoy a great supper all in one trip into the village.

As we move into November lots of us enjoy visiting various craft fairs in the area. The First Congregational Church will be hosting theirs on Dec. 8 in the CEB building featuring baked goods, lunch, a Christmas table of arts, crafts and decorations as well as a raffle. Last year Andover had three sites for craft fair day, the Fire Station and the Town Hall as well as the CEB. I am assuming the same will happen this year.

Voting is our privilege as citizens and our duty. So be sure to vote this next Tuesday. Wouldn't it be great if it was a huge turnout because people were vitally interested in determining their government for the future? Only you can make that happen.
